About the festival

Founded by the Honorary Consul of France in Limerick, the festival has grown into one of the region’s distinctive heritage events. Today it is presented through the work of the Limerick Wild Geese Festival Committee, Alliance Française de Limerick and a wide network of community, cultural, business and French-Irish partners.

The programme combines public ceremonies, history talks, living history, music, art, food, wine and community gatherings. It is designed to be accessible to local audiences while welcoming visitors who want to understand Limerick’s historic connection with France.
