Celebrating the stream of ideas between countries, cultures, topics and generations. The Night of Ideas is a global initiative by Institut Français taking place worldwide.
In Ireland, The French Embassy has organized The Green Night of Ideas 2021 entirely dedicated to the environment featuring a series of digital screenings and debates taking place in January and February 2021. This year for the first time we are also offering a School Project to involve young people to debate in class thanks to a special free screening and study guide.
Through committed works by filmmakers like Yann Arthus-Betrand and Nicolas Vanier or by Franco-Malian musician Inna Modja, United Nations ambassador, the events address the issues of biodiversity, agro-ecology and the climate emergency with French, Irish and African speakers.
All events are presented by the French Embassy in Ireland in association with the Alliance Française Network, Institut Français and Irish cultural partners.
